Women & Future Skills Dundee 2025

Our innovative partnership programme focuses on five of the most in-demand emerging skills identified in the World Economic Forum’s Future of Jobs Report 2025: Data & AI, Technological Literacy, Creative Thinking, Resilience, Flexibility & Agility, and Curiosity & Lifelong Learning.

Co-designed with with The Data Gals and Code Division, these skills are driving the future of work. Aligned with global goals: Inner Development Goals, The Earth Charter and UN SUstainable Development Goals, this programme equips learners with the tools and mindset to stay ahead and at the top of the talent game.

Who Is It For:

Women in Dundee Scotland (Postcodes: DD1–DD7) with a background in data or a relevant degree. You could be unemployed, underemployed, in part time work, returning to work, or just looking to grow your career.

What we Need:

Your commitment to the programme; Saturday sessions, evening sessions, completion of self paced content and continued engagement with your fellow learners, tutors and mentors.

BONUS: Sound Healing

As part of the holistic design and alignment with the global goals, good health and wellbeing is a priority. This is why, as well as embedding holistic wellbeing practice into the programme, we arrange and provide opportunities to experience healing and restorative experience. For this programme we have engaged with the sound sonic that is Helen Cromar of Unfurl to facilitate a restorative sound healing session to close out 2025.

HOLISTIC resources

On starting the programme learners are given a Journey Planner that is carefully designed as a kind of handbook, setting out intentions, expectations, introducing learners to programme designers and faciitators, mentors and industry supporters. Weekly workbooks provide flexible continuous learning for all minds.

PROJECTS WE’VE WORKED ON

STEAM EDUCATION

Collaboarating and co-developing alongside Rebecca White and Dr. Anita McKeown, Bianca’s contribution to Future Focus 21c reflects her own approach to education: learner-centered, locally grounded, and globally relevant.

Supporting the development of innovative, place-based STEAM materials for second-level learners, helping connect curriculum content with real-life sustainability challenges.

OCEAN LITERACY

Collaborative co-design of The Ocean Race’s engaging learning programmes which are suitable for schools, at home learning, community and youth groups, and sailing clubs. These resources support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that seek to ‘transform our world’ by 2030. Our programmes align with a number of the goals: SDG 4 Quality Education, SDG 11 Sustainable Cities and Communities, SDG 13 Climate Action and SDG 14 Life Below Water.

FUTURE SKILLS

In collaboration with Code Division we have co-designed and develierd innovative, flexible and inclusive skills programmes including:

Women Returner / Ukrainian Digital Empowerment – SCQF PDA Data Science Level 7

We delivered this programme across eight cohorts between 2021 and 2022, supporting women re-entering the workforce. These 6 week programmes focused on building confidence, enhancing communication skills, and developing proficiency with data and digital tools such as Power BI, Excel, and SQL. The programme also offered the SCQF accredited PDA in Data Science Level 7.

Many participants went on to secure digital roles in sectors including government, finance, and technology.
 Entry-level roles: data assistant, reporting administrator, digital support officer.
 Higher roles (progression): junior data analyst, business intelligence assistant.

Refugee Cyber Programme – SCQF PDA Cyber Resilience Level 8
Aimed at learners targeting advanced cyber roles across IT, financial services, public sector and security.

In 2024, we designed and delivered a learner-centred cyber skills programme for refugees across Scotland, in partnership with industry and refugee organisations, to support secure employment in the cyber sector. The programme combined the SCQF PDA in Cyber Resilience (SCQF Level 8) with core skills in communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity.

Using design thinking, social-emotional learning, and STEAM principles, it fostered confidence, a growth mindset, and real-world readiness—empowering participants to successfully enter Scotland’s digital workforce.
 Higher roles: cyber specialist, cyber resilience analyst, incident-response trainee.
 Lower/alternative roles: cyber support or digital-security roles in SMEs, third sector and community organisations, combining cyber skills with wider digital literacy.
 Option to step down to lower levels to reflect the wide range of cyber roles

Women and Data / Neurodiverse Women and Data / Future Skills – SCQF PDA Data Science Level 8
Designed for those moving into specialised data and AI work across sectors including tech, finance, public sector and research.
 Entry-level roles: data technician, data operations assistant.
 Higher roles: data analyst, machine-learning assistant, junior data engineer.
 Option to step down to Level 7 for broader data roles.
